Rockstar Games made a huge impact on May 6, 2025, releasing the second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Alongside the trailer, Rockstar also updated its website with major new details about the game’s story, characters, and setting.
The Official Story
For the first time, Rockstar shared the official synopsis of GTA VI:
Jason and Lucia have always known life wouldn’t be easy. But when things go wrong, they find themselves pulled into the darker side of the sunniest place in America, caught in a criminal conspiracy spreading across the entire state of Leonida.
To survive, they’ll have to rely on each other more than ever.
This introduces a fresh twist for the series: GTA VI isn’t just about crime, it’s about two people trying to escape something much bigger than themselves.
Welcome Back to Vice City
The game takes place in a modern, expanded version of Vice City, Rockstar’s iconic fictional city inspired by Miami, Florida. Fans of earlier GTA titles will recognize it, but this new version promises to be larger, more detailed, and more spectacular than ever.
Meet the Main Characters
Rockstar also introduced its two protagonists:
Jason Duval — a man dreaming of an easy life after growing up surrounded by scammers and hustlers.
Lucia Caminos — tough, determined, and willing to do whatever it takes. After spending time in prison, she’s chasing a better future.
